Founded in 1960, the PRSA Counselors Academy is dedicated to providing principals and senior counselors of public relations firms in the United States and Canada with the resources and tools to grow their businesses and counseling skills. The nearly 600 members of the Counselors Academy are passionately committed to evolving and preserving an open and honest peer network that energizes and motivates the individual. Membership is limited to counselors and/or senior practitioners with 10 or more years of public relations experience, and who have the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential. The annual Spring Conference is the Counselors Academy’s largest event, attracting up to 200 senior-level agency executives. In addition to Counselors Academy members, attendees include sole practitioners, new and emerging leaders, and practitioners from related industries, such as event planning, digital communications, advertising and marketing. Attendees come to connect with other senior counselors on new ideas and concepts they can immediately put into practice in the workplace. The theme for this year’s conference is “A View From the Cliff: Insights and Inspiration to Help Your Agency Soar.”
Priority will be given to proposals that are visionary, forward-thinking and relevant to today’s practitioners. Counselors Academy members are particularly interested in the following subjects:
The Counselors Academy welcomes proposals from senior public relations practitioners in agency settings, as well as experts in related fields, including, but not limited to: management, human resources, legal and interactive communications.

Note: PRSA and the Counselors Academy do not reimburse presenters for out-of-pocket expenses, such as hotel and airfare. PRSA and the Counselors Academy do not provide speaker stipends. Presenters who are selected for expert breakout presentations will receive one complimentary registration, which does not include meals or networking events. Presenters will have the option to purchase a meal package.
