Super Cure — Super Success: Moving from Awareness to Action

How can you utilize a major sporting event to help cure breast cancer? The 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tissue Bank at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center (KTB) to establish a meaningful legacy called Indy's Super Cure. KTB is the only repository in the world for healthy breast tissue to assist research and prevention efforts. The goals of this ambitious initiative were to increase the number of healthy breast tissue donors, especially from diverse backgrounds; raise awareness of this vital tool among cancer researchers, and generate philanthropic funds to ensure it will flourish for years to come. The results were overwhelming. Hear how the partnership was developed and why it was successful.
