“From Obstacles to Opportunity: Digital Solutions for Complex Issues”

Most patients are unaware that decisions made by policymakers, hospitals, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies often hinder them from receiving medications prescribed by their physician. Astellas teamed up with GolinHarris to help patients understand the obstacles that may prevent them from accessing their medications, and how to advocate for the prescription drugs their doctor intended. The solution was the Prescription Process campaign, which involved working with patient groups to develop educational materials and reach their communities with empowering information.

At the heart of the campaign was PrescriptionProcess.com, as well as a social media strategy, including search engine optimization, a complementary Twitter handle, ongoing monitoring and continuous site upgrades. As a result, PrescriptionProcess.com has successfully reached hundreds of thousands of individuals most concerned about issues related to medication access.
