"Motivation and Mobilization: Using SoLoMo (Social, Local, Mobile) With Traditional Public Affairs Techniques to Engage Health Professional Organizations"

“Why social media?” often masks the question “Isn’t this a waste of time?” It may also be a genuine inquiry into how to manage the kaleidoscopic universe of tools available to the modern advocate. While the use of social media — in combination with traditional government relations efforts — is hardly an exact science in benefiting advocacy organizations, its justifications align with some classic best practices in advocacy, marketing and communications.
