Peter Himler, founder, Flatiron Communications LLC

Photo of Peter Himler Himler advises established and emerging companies, as well as tech startups, on how to use the latest communications technologies and strategies to advance their business goals. He frequently lectures and writes about traditional public relations and digital/social media on his blog and for Forbes.com. He serves as president of the Publicity Club of New York and on the advisory boards for Social Media Week, the Center for Communication and the Communications & Media Studies Program at Tufts University.

Karen Wickre , editorial director, Twitter

(Photo Unavailable.) Wickre oversees and manages the voice of Twitter on marketing communications and public sites reflecting the company. She joined Twitter in October 2011 from Google where she spent nine years, most recently as senior media liaison for global communications and public affairs. For Google’s global corporate communications team, she played a consulting role across verticals for media relations and social media, and best practices in public communications. 


Jonny Thaw, manager of technology and engineering communications, Facebook

Previously, he helped manage Facebook’s corporate, financial and corporate development communications. Before Facebook, Thaw was a reporter, editor and technology team leader at “Bloomberg News.” 


Demetra Kavadeles, global consumer public relations manager, Skype

(Photo Unavailable.) Demetra Kavadeles is global consumer public relations manager for Skype, where she oversees and manages consumer public relations for the U.S., Brazil and Mexico. She joined Skype in April 2011 after more than seven years at LG Electronics Mobile Communications. During her tenure at LG, she created best practices and award-winning programs in both CSR and consumer public relations.
