Your Session ROI

Disease outbreaks and health issues have the potential to get significant news media and public attention. Spokespeople must be trained and versed in risk communication principles, with media “maps” to guide initial efforts, and the ability to use an array of communication channels. Glen Joseph Nowak, Ph.D., professor and director, Center for Health and Risk Communication, University of Georgia, and David Daigle, associate director, communications, Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, share lessons learned in preparing for and responding to crises, with an emphasis on public health examples.
