Your Social Media Diet

Too many social media options have you overwhelmed or unproductive? Not enough interest in the social media realm and now you're looking for tips to beef up your skills? Whether you need a brush up or a makeover, this session will provide practical and relevant information on the following:


Sree Sreenivasan, digital media professor and dean of student affairs, Columbia Journalism School; contributing editor, DNAinfo.com. 
Sreenivasan is a journalism educator at Columbia University, and a technology evangelist and skeptic who works to help journalists and consumers use technology in smarter ways. In July 2007, he was promoted to professor of professional practice. He also teaches workshops in "Smarter Surfing: Better Use of Your Web Time" and “Figuring Out Blogs & Whatever's Next,” along with other topics in newsrooms and educational institutions around the United States and abroad. Sreenivasan occasionally appears on various TV shows (on CNN, NBC's “Today Show,” CNBC and elsewhere) to discuss technology, the media and more, and is a frequent commentator and speaker on various issues, including trends affecting journalism, technology and convergence, the Internet, writing for the Web, and South Asia and South Asians in America.
