Travel Trends

With the economy still recovering and in today’s ever-changing digital landscape, it is more important than ever to be able to predict consumer buying habits. Our panel of experts will discuss the state of the travel industry and delve into the latest trends in leisure travel and business travel, as well as meetings and conventions. Hear about where the travel industry is headed, and get great insight into what you should be focusing on to capitalize on the current conditions.

Scott Mayerowitz, travel reporter, The Associated Press
Mayerowitz is a national travel and business reporter with the Associated Press, focusing on the airlines industry. His stories include tips for the best times to book airfare, a trip to the final resting place for lost luggage, a look at how travel has changed in decade since 9/11, and an interview with Bill Marriott just before he retired as CEO of his family’s hotel company. Prior to the AP, Mayerowitz covered travel for ABC News and oversaw the network’s online travel section. He has previously covered Wall Street and business for ABC.

Bill Purpura, editor, Ohio AAA, Home & Away
For the past 25 years, Purpura has served as editor of the Ohio edition of Home & Away magazine. He also serves as a consultant to the editors whose magazines are published by H&A Media Group. Additionally, he serves as director of corporate communications for AAA Ohio Auto Club, overseeing the club’s public relations, traffic safety and government affairs activities. He is president of the Worthington CVB board, and served for a number of years on the Ohio Travel Advisory Council.
