Additional Speaker Information

Susan Whitehead
is editor-in-chief at Real Family Travel Magazine. Growing up in a bicultural home, her life included getting a smallpox shot before she turned two, learning Spanish at five and lots of traveling, including a life-changing three week trip inside communist Romania in 1989. A serial entrepreneur, Whitehead took her passions for family travel and online marketing and merged them into Real Family Travel Magazine, a digital monthly publication available on iPad and via the Web. She will quickly admit that the hardest part of running the magazine is not the hours of work involved, but tempering her wanderlust to visit every place the magazine's contributors write about. This married mother of five currently lives in Central Mexico, where she is constantly on the lookout for new travel experiences for her family.

Peter Frank is director of editorial product development at Travel + Leisure. Frank oversees a variety of projects in both print and digital media, including the magazine’s vibrant new “On Our Radar” section, the brand’s social media strategy, and T+L’s monthly tablet editions and mobile strategy. This is Frank’s second stint at Travel + Leisure, where he was senior editor from 2000–2003. He also spent four years as editor-in-chief of the award-winning travel website Concierge.com, and served in senior editorial positions at Condé Nast Traveler and Men’s Journal. In nearly two decades of covering the world of luxury travel, Frank has traveled to nearly 50 countries and experienced everything from Tokyo’s underground club scene to whitewater rafting in Patagonia. When he’s not on the road, Frank divides his time between Manhattan and Sullivan Country, N.Y.  Connect with Peter on Twitter.

Brian Berusch is editorial director at Arts & Travel Magazine. He has been telling great stories for as long as he can remember. Inspired by the ornate characters he's had the pleasure of interviewing, the venues in which these tales have appeared include print newspapers and magazines around the globe, on websites and other digital outlets, in expertly-produced video, books/memoirs and other forms. He is an auteur that cannot be bounded by "a beat" — if the story fascinates, regardless of the field, Berusch will tell it. When not crafting unique content, Berusch does brand consulting for various hospitality and media outlets — something he's been heard to call "grown-up work."
