Real World Public Relations - The Things Your PR Teacher Never Told You

The PRSA Diversity Committee is pleased to offer the presentation Real World Public Relations: The Things Your PR Teacher Never Told You.

When you think of public relations, do visions of glamorous parties dance in your head? Maybe you secretly wish to control the media like puppets on a string? If so, this webinar will focus on the funny and faith-building lessons learned through a professional’s rise through the ranks of the public relations industry. Her lessons learned will give participants tips and strategies to stand out among their peers, prepare to begin their career in public relations and avoid some of the pitfalls that come with the life of a public relations pro.

You will learn:

  • The importance of securing internships (and how to get one) while in college — to learn both what you want to do and what you do NOT want to do.
  • How to create your own public relations campaign to secure a job during these economic times.
  • How your cultural diversity and diversity of thought is an asset to organizations.
  • How creative thinking, great relationships and thick skin will help propel and secure your future in public relations.
