Deadline Extended: Join the Public Relations Journal Editorial Review Board

PRSA is accepting applications and nominations to serve on the Editorial Review Board of the Public Relations Journal, the Society’s Web-based, open-access, peer-reviewed, quarterly publication. Currently an academic journal, PRSA’s goal for the Journal is that it serve not solely as a scholarly publication, but that it facilitate the transfer of knowledge from the educational community to the professional community by addressing issues of concern to practitioners in a manner that can impact their daily work

Successful candidates for these volunteer positions will assist the editorial team of the Journal by reviewing articles submitted for publication consideration. Candidates should be available to review at least four manuscripts each year.

Candidates should be published scholars with current or emerging publication records and/or public relations practitioners with considerable interest in research, measurement and evaluation. Candidates with Ph.D. and PRSA membership are strongly encouraged to apply.

Criteria for the Editorial Review Board include the following:

  • Ten or more years in the practice, teaching or researching in public relations or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated commitment to research either through published work or verifiable assignments.
  • Established award-winning professionals.
  • Representative of diversity of thought, industry, practice, geographic location, gender, age, ethnic background, religion and/or sexual orientation.
  • Recognized experts in the subject areas specifically designated on the editorial calendar, which include diversity and ethics.

The term of the appointments for Editorial Review Board members is two years, with the understanding that each member can be reappointed for only one additional consecutive term. All appointments of the Editorial Review Board will be reviewed with PRSA’s chair and CEO, and approved by the PRSA Board of Directors.

Applications and nominations should be received no later than July 31, 2012, and should consist of a letter of application, CV of the applicant and any additional materials candidates wish to include.
