Preventing identity theft is a daunting challenge for many organizations. Employer records are a top target of these nefarious operations, due to the vast amount of sensitive information that they contain about employees and customers.
Employers may face legal liability when their workers or a third party compromise their customers’ records — especially if the employers’ treatment of personal information contributed to the problem.
