The PR classroom of the future

For this education-themed issue, Tactics spoke to five PR professionals from universities of varying sizes throughout the country about the challenges of teaching Millennials. Preparing Millennials for the PR profession

As students yearn for leadership, guidance, structure and transparency, Dionne C. Clemons, Ph.D., explains how what she teaches them in the classroom will be useful in the “real world.” In this month’s Diversity Dimensions column, she shares the learning outcomes that she outlines for her PR students and discusses how this generation needs more mentors to help them succeed.

As Hurricane Isaac was coming ashore in Louisiana, The Weather Channel and CNN interviewed resident Gerard Braud in lieu of their planned storm coverage. He offered great visuals, first-hand information and the technology to broadcast from his front porch in rising floodwaters. Here, Braud explains why spokespeople and media trainers need to prepare for the interview of the future.

The social student
