Deborah Radman, APR, Fellow PRSA, senior public relations consultant, has been “behind-the-scenes” at pivotal moments for some of the biggest brands, including IBM when Lou Gerstner was implementing the company’s turnaround in the ‘90s as well as the Sprint and Nextel merger in the early 2000s.
Radman is a seasoned agency communicator, with past leadership roles in premier firms, such as CK Public Relations and KCSA Worldwide. Additionally, Radman has served as
PRSA Counselors Academy chair, as well as immediate past president of the
New York Chapter.
“I feel my greatest professional accomplishment isn’t really about the clients I’ve worked [with] or the counseling I’ve had the good fortune to do,” said Radman. “It’s been about being able to make even a small difference in the careers of so many of my colleagues and younger professionals.”
Radman brings her passion and impressive experience to her role as a
PRSA Jobcenter mentor, taking a real interest in helping budding public relations practitioners.
"I’ve always believed [in] helping advise and guide people who truly want a career in PR," said Radman. "I didn’t get that kind of support, [it] is the reason I believe so strongly in giving my time in this way.”
Also, Radman’s career advice has been featured on the “CBS Early Show ― Job Squad Series.” In her experience as a mentor, she shared that the job market and practitioners’ expected toolkit are constantly changing― though some things don’t.
“Be inspired by opportunity and the idea of taking a risk, rather than just getting paid money,” said Radman. “You find the job. The job does not find you.”
