Your Public Relations and Communications Community

Kevin Sangsland, APR

Working in the field of technology communications, it’s difficult to become bored, according to Kevin Sangsland, APR, Technology Section chair and account director at Airfoil Public Relations. In particular, what keeps Sangsland interested is “the pace of innovation,” and how “the variety of what you work to communicate is constantly changing.”

As technology is always optimizing, being a part of changing the perspectives of key audiences as they interact with “innovations” has been a part of Sangsland’s focus.

“Innovation can be a dirty word, overused, and cease to mean anything,” said Sangsland. “A challenge [can arise] when you have something truly [innovative.]”

Two career highlights for Sangsland have been on helping to launch the drug, Suboxone, early in his career, as well as supporting an advocacy and business leadership campaign for Microsoft on “why working from remote scenarios can be game changers in terms of cost and talent.”

It’s no surprise that what interests Sangsland most about the upcoming PRSA 2011 Digital Impact Conference, May 5–6, in New York City, is “focused development and information sharing around core tactical disciplines that are cross-cutting but salient in the tech industry.”
