Peter Scott, APR

Orlando Regional Chapter President Peter Scott, APR has served in several PRSA volunteer capacities, including ethics and professional development, but reflects back to his first and favorite role as a Chapter board member – finance. As Scott explained, “It gives you the ability to see the inner workings of the entire Chapter – it’s a great opportunity to collaborate with every one of your fellow board members.” This makes sense since Scott, a former financial analyst, originally got his start in investor relations back in 1994.

Though he joined PRSA in 2001, it wasn’t until 2006 when he became involved with the Orlando Regional Chapter Board. He also serves alongside Mason Moore as the Host Committee Co-Chair for the PRSA 2011 International Conference. “Working closely with the PRSA National staff has been a fantastic experience. It gives you such a great insight on what a talented and dedicated team of professionals we have working for us and our profession,” said Scott. “This is going to be a fantastic event and something that I am very proud to have played a role.”

Scott recently co-authored a book entitled “Auditing Social Media,” published by Wiley. He now spends a great deal of his time writing, speaking and training people on the development of social media strategies, policies, and effective governance. Follow Peter on Twitter at @prscott.
