Join a Professional Interest Section

PRSA’s 16 Professional Interest Sections are each designed to focus on issues, trends and research of a specialized practice area. With forums to contribute expertise and resources to increase professional effectiveness, these membership communities offer niche networks and programming that are precisely relevant to professionals who work in one industry or that focus on a specific PR discipline. Enrollment is open to all members of PRSA.

Adding a Professional Interest Section to your PRSA membership can be an important competitive asset:

1. Get Problems Solved — Quickly
Having a problem with a project? Imagine if you had a whole army of peers whom you could turn to for advice, ideas and support. By joining a Section, you’ll become part of a niche network of PRSA members, all facing similar challenges in their daily practice as you do.

2. Get Expertise Needed for Your Specific Practice
Section professional development programs not only seek to sharpen your overall skills as a practitioner, they go further in-depth to help you tackle the very industry-specific challenges you are faced with in your job every day. Through teleseminars, in-person conferences and seminars, Sections offer interactive, results-driven sessions presented by leading industry experts.

3. Get Connected
Each Section offers an e-Group — a secure online discussion forum where members can share ideas and seek advice on topics specific to their practice. Members also have quick access to an online membership directory, and in-person networking opportunities are offered each year at Section Conferences and at the PRSA International Conference.

4. Get Informed
Through newsletters, monographs and/or white papers, Section members are kept informed on issues facing their industry and/or specialization area. Each Section also offers a Web site, where members can learn about upcoming Section programs and initiatives, and access additional informational resources.

5. Get Involved
Section members have the opportunity to advance their network even further by becoming a volunteer leader. You’ll become directly involved in developing and implementing Section goals — a rewarding opportunity that will not only give you recognition among your peers, but a unique chance to contribute to the advancement of your specialized area of practice.
