In 2010, employee engagement survey results highlighted that “work structures and process” significantly impacted employee engagement, and were a source of “positive frustration.”

Through analysis and experimentation, and borrowing themes and patterns from enterprise social media, social entrepreneurship and the theory of planning, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals developed a methodology that brought speed to change in a large organization. This method is helping to not only enhance employee engagement; it’s also building energy and increasing organizational effectiveness.
