In 2010, employee engagement survey results highlighted that “work structures and process” significantly impacted employee engagement, and were a source of “positive frustration.”

Through analysis and experimentation, and borrowing themes and patterns from enterprise social media, social entrepreneurship and the theory of planning, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals developed a methodology that brought speed to change in a large organization. This method is helping to not only enhance employee engagement; it’s also building energy and increasing organizational effectiveness.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How communications leaders guide employees and organization leaders alike through an approach that includes engagement, coaching the C-suite to lead with agility, and applying networks to drive innovation and organizational change.
  • How a series of exploratory pilots has evolved into a function that now sits in the Public Affairs and Communications team.
  • How to leverage organizational networks, reduce hierarchy and resolve complex issues.

Amy M. Fry, vice president, public affairs and communications, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
