Patrick Ford, vice chair, chief client officer and chairman, Asia, Burson-Marsteller
Patrick Ford became Burson-Marsteller’s vice chairman and chief client officer in 2012, following six years of driving extraordinary growth in North America as Burson’s regional president and CEO. He also served as chair of the firm’s Asia-Pacific region for nearly three years (2012-2015).
Mr. Ford specializes in corporate reputation management, senior executive communications, media strategy, and issues and crisis management. His clients over 26 years at Burson-Marsteller have ranged from world-class companies in industries as diverse as automotive, energy, express delivery services, financial services, food and beverage, management consulting, technology, and telecommunications, and also government clients in the U.S. and Asia.
Before joining Burson-Marsteller, he served as vice president for external affairs at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, one of America’s leading policy think tanks, in Washington, DC, following a brief career as a journalist.
Mr. Ford serves on the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Public Relations, an international organization that supports PR research and education, and the Board of Directors of The LAGRANT Foundation, whose mission is to increase the number of ethnic minorities in the fields of advertising, marketing and public relations. He also is a member of the Advisory Board of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University. In 2014, he received the prestigious Milestones in Mentoring Legacy Award from the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations at the University of Alabama.
Danny Rubin, vice president, Rubin Communications Group
From on-air reporting to behind-the-scenes consulting, Danny brings a wide range of media experience to Rubin Communications Group (RCG). At RCG, Danny specializes in web content strategies, blogging, video production and how to reach the millennial market. He leads our web services team and writes content for client websites across a variety of industries.
Danny has also developed a reputation as an expert on writing and networking skills for young professionals. In 2015, he published a book, Wait, How Do I Write This Email?, a collection of 100+ templates for networking, the job search and LinkedIn. The book stems from work on his personal website, News To Live By, which highlights the career and leadership lessons ‘hidden’ in the day’s top stories. News To Live By, which debuted in 2012, has been viewed over 1.5 million times.
Danny began his career as a reporter/videographer for WTKR NewsChannel 3 in Norfolk and then headed north to the nation’s capitol. For three years, he was the Washington, DC field director for Frank N. Magid Associates, one of the nation’s leading media consulting firms.
At Magid, Danny worked on content and audience strategies for a host of media and corporate clients including Gannett, USA TODAY, United Healthcare, Verizon, MSNBC and NBC News. He also provided weekly research for NBC’s ‘Meet the Press.’
Danny graduated from the University of Virginia and earned a masters in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland.
