Jim McCarthy is president and CEO of CounterPoint Strategies, a specialized communications agency providing counsel for clients in high-stakes media circumstances. CounterPoint’s guiding strategy is called “media accountability,” which enforces fundamental journalism standards in the public discourse on behalf of clients and their issues.
With offices in New York and Washington, the agency has a diverse client list in sectors including manufacturing, energy, finance, sports, entertainment, and government affairs along with representation of prominent public figures.
Jim is on the adjunct faculty at American University in their School of Communication, lecturing on crisis management theory and case studies. He is also a frequent lecturer at Johns Hopkins University.
