PRSA will not be providing laptops, so please be sure to bring your own. Create your own new media initiative based on a given client scenario.
You will learn:

Attendees are requested to bring a laptop with wireless internet access capability. They must be proficient at logging onto the internet via Wi-Fi, and must be comfortable pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping in a Windows environment. This is a PC-based course. Numerous participants have successfully completed the workshop on a Macintosh computer, but all demonstrations are conducted on a Microsoft Windows XP. Vista users should also be prepared to make any necessary adjustments.
Participants should have administrative privileges to download and install third-party software on the hard drive of their computers. Specific applications vary but they may be open source, Java or Adobe-based. It is impossible for participants to effectively monitor, participate and engage constituents online if they are not at liberty to access and utilize the same, popular social media applications used to drive the digital dialogue.
Participants will also need the ability to access the Internet in the absence of their own secure proxy server, should have Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher, Firefox 3 or higher, Flash Player 9 or higher and a secondary Google Gmail account that can be used to sign up for web-based services and which will not interfere with their productivity if excessive unsolicited email accumulates at that address.
