The Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is the second largest Chapter of public relations professionals in the United States with more than 900 members. Its mission is to enhance the profession, provide continuing education and offer networking opportunities. It is dedicated to developing and enriching the professional lives of Georgia’s public relations practitioners. As one of the most active chapters in the country, more than 150 of Georgia’s PR professionals attend the organization’s monthly meetings to hear some of the nation’s most dynamic industry leaders speak on cutting-edge communications techniques and strategies. The monthly meetings also provide great opportunities for members to network and build valued peer relationships. PRSA|GA also offers 10 Special Interest Groups (Corporate and Employee Communications, Government/Public Affairs, Healthcare, Independent Agency Owners, Independent Counselors, Leader Board, Nonprofit, Technology, Travel and Tourism, and Young Professionals) that provide networking and professional development opportunities to members in specific areas of practice. The Chapter hosts an annual conference providing professional development and networking to Georgia Chapter members as well as practitioners across the Southeast. The Chapter’s PRo Bono committee hosts the “Quality Time with PR Minds” event each year to provide free assistance to nonprofit organizations that might otherwise not have funds or resources to retain professional public relations counsel. The Georgia Chapter works with local universities through its advocacy efforts and supports six PRSSA Chapters: Clark Atlanta University, Georgia College & State University, Georgia State University, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University and The University of Georgia. In addition to its outreach through PRSSA, the Georgia Chapter hosts college students from across the country each year during its Real World PR conference. PRSA|GA also recognizes its members for outstanding achievements and contributions with awards programs like the annual Phoenix Awards, Chapter Awards and The Order of the Phoenix.

“As a young professional finding her way in a new city and a new career, PRSA|GA gave me the opportunity to make meaningful connections and to expand my professional knowledge and confidence. Now, as a mid-level professional, I credit PRSA|GA with inspiring the strong connections I have with my colleagues, my profession, and even my community.”
