About Our Chapter

PRSA Houston is one of the nation's largest and most active chapters of the Public Relations Society of America. Founded in 1950, PRSA Houston focuses on helping members become more valuable to their organizations and clients, and  more successful professionally, by

• providing peer-based support;
• encouraging professional growth through participation in educational programs and leadership roles;
• providing opportunities for advancement
• and promoting the highest standards of professional competence and ethics.

PRSA Houston offers monthly meetings usually on the first Wednesday of each month, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  We meet at the Houston Racquet Club.  In addition, we have media mixers, New Professional events, and a full-day of professional seminars called PR Day.  in 2013, PR Day will be Oct. 2 and we likely will mail to about 4,000 professionals in the area.  The Excalibur Awards gala recognizes the best in public relations in the region and typically draws 180-250 professionals together to celebrate and raise funds for the Public Relations Foundation of Houston through a silent auction. The PRFH gives a $3000 scholarship annually to an area student in public relations or a related major, one of  the largest scholarships given in public relations.

The PRSA Houston Job Bank, found through our website, is the best place to find candidates in the Houston area.  We accept postings for a fee of $100.
