One of the largest PRSA Chapters with roughly 300 members, PRSA Boston serves public relations professionals throughout Massachusetts. Our members work in both PR agencies and corporate in-house marketing departments, and come from a diverse range of industries, such as technology, healthcare, government and nonprofit. PRSA Boston includes special member interest groups, such as the Independent Practitioners Network and the Young Professionals Group, to provide members with an intimate community of peers. We offer a host of benefits that compliment those provided by PRSA National, such as monthly programs, professional development sessions and social and networking events. Programs include notable speakers, authors and subject experts, and focus on important topics of the day such as leveraging social media, crisis communications, social responsibility, reaching diverse audiences and the changing media landscape. Our banner event is the Social Media Summit, a spring conference focused on the crossroads of digital and traditional public relations.
In the summer and at the holiday season, we host parties that allow members and friends to socialize and reconnect with one another in a relaxing setting. Our meetings always allow significant time for networking and sharing thoughts and ideas with other PR professionals. The Boston chapter’s newsletter, The Buzz, is e-mailed to all members to keep them up-to-date on trends in the field, views of industry leaders and upcoming Chapter events, as well as job postings. The Chapter is also on Facebook and Twitter (@PRSABoston) and uses the hashtag #PRSABOS for all our chapter programs.
