In 2009, the San Francisco Chapter of PRSA celebrates its 60th anniversary. Old school etiquette books call this milestone year the “diamond anniversary”. Like the precious gemstone, PRSA-SF is multifaceted, too, for our members are a varied and dynamic group of public relations professionals dedicated to the advancement of the profession. We offer a wide array of professional development and networking opportunities for those new to public relations or those who are experienced pros. We’ve held programs about using Twitter, integrating social media into crisis communications, pitching to TV news anchors and designing award-winning communications programs. In addition to providing our members with informative programming from leading industry experts, and local, regional and national media, we encourage our members’ active participation in the chapter through numerous volunteer opportunities. Whether you have a few minutes a week, or several hours, we have opportunities. We have roles that include writing, social media, media relations, event planning, networking, and more. These opportunities can help you to build your resume, advance your career and give back to the profession. The Chapter serves the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area: San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Solano, Napa, Sonoma and Marin, recognizing that there is some natural overlap with other PRSA chapters located within or near the Bay Area.
