The Alaska Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America was established in 1973. With more than 100 members statewide, the Chapter provides public relations practitioners in the 49th state with monthly networking luncheons, professional development seminars, a job bank, education, a mentorship program, an annual student scholarship award, and Accreditation preparation. The Chapter is based in Anchorage, where meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month. Sub-Chapter meetings are held in Fairbanks on the fourth Monday of every month. Our membership includes professionals from all areas of public relations – industry, agencies, independent practitioners, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, government, and trade associations. Alaska Chapter members include 14 APRs and seven PRSA Fellows.

“As a PR practitioner in Alaska, being a PRSA member is a must. PRSA’s excellent Web seminars and other distance-delivered professional development opportunities help shorten the distance between us and our colleagues in the Lower 48.”
- Scott McCrea, director of marketing and communications, University of Alaska Fairbanks
