About Our Chapter
Established in 2002, the Tri-Cities TN/VA Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is a nonprofit, professional organization of communications specialists from across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. These professionals represent a number of businesses and industries in the Tri-Cities, including Fortune 500 companies, leading healthcare organizations, public relations firms, and transportation and tourism entities, as well as higher education institutions and nonprofit associations. In accordance with the objectives of PRSA, the Tri-Cities TN/VA Chapter:
- Advances the art and science of public relations, in the public interest.
- Encourages research, discussion and study of the problems and techniques of the public relations profession.
- Strengthens and maintains the highest standards of service and ethical conduct by all members of the profession.
- Exchanges ideas and experiences and collects and disseminates information that may enhance or improve the professional knowledge, standards, ethics and standing of the membership.
- Develops future leaders within the profession through involvement with PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America).
- Promotes fraternalism within the profession.
