With his broad communications experience, Larry G. Holdren, APR is widely recognized as one of the region’s top communications professionals. The son of a newspaper publisher, he has been involved with some aspect of the communications industry his entire life, first as a newspaper editor and reporter, and now as a communications professional.
Holdren has successfully managed communications efforts for industries that include energy, real estate, health care, food and beverage, retail, and sports and entertainment. His extensive list of clients includes notable brands such as BP America, Encana, the National Hockey League and Stetson, among many others.
Prior to joining Pure, Holdren was a principal and director of public relations at Barnhart, the company that acquired his company, Charney Bergner & Holdren Public Relations. He was previously a senior associate with Charney/GBSM Public Relations and also served as a public relations manager for Colorado’s largest health care system, Centura Health. He began his career at Denver’s Children’s Hospital.
Holdren is accredited by and has served on the board of directors of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Colorado Chapter, and has received numerous awards for his work from that and other professional communications societies and organizations. He is a 2006 winner of the Denver Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 award.
Holdren graduated cum laude from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and is a past president of Bethany’s Alumni Council. He is on the boards of directors of the Colorado Energy Coalition and Florence Crittenton Services, as well as the Executive Committee of PRSA’s Counselor’s Academy.
