With more than 50 business units spanning television, radio as well as online and print media, ESPN is one of the world’s most recognizable sports, media and entertainment brands. Josh Krulewitz, vice president of public relations at ESPN, will share:

  • How ESPN carved its niche in the media and public relations worlds in its relatively short history of 30 years.
  • Lessons learned in balancing promotional efforts across multiple national and regional platforms.
  • The art of protecting a high-visibility brand that is regularly analyzed by other media outlets and passionate sports fans.

Josh Krulewitz is vice president of public relations for college, news and networks information at ESPN. In this role, Krulewitz oversees publicity efforts for hundreds of college sports events annually broadcast on ESPN networks and ABC, as well as the network information area of the department, comprised of listings, the media web site, photography and viewer response. Krulewitz has been with ESPN’s communications department since 1990, and among the major successful publicity campaigns he has handled are the launch of ESPN2, the Emmy- and Peabody-Award winning SportsCentury project and ESPN’s unprecedented coverage of the entire NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. He is also the department’s point person in issue management, in particular with regards to studio programming and personnel.
