2011 SILVER ANVIL AWARD AWARD OF EXCELLENCE — COMMUNITY RELATIONS — GOVERNMENT
Southeast Seattle In Motion
In fall 2009, King County METRO Transit implemented Southeast Seattle In Motion, a community-based social marketing program that aimed to reduce drive-alone trips in the five neighborhoods of Southeast Seattle. In Motion encourages participants to change their travel behavior by providing information and resources, securing commitments to take action, normalizing alternatives to driving alone, and offering incentives from local businesses for taking action. Metro contracted PRR to implement the program in the Southeast Seattle area; including executing research, and developing an outreach methodology. PRR tailored the outreach tactics for each neighborhood, garnering participation across all neighborhoods and demographics.
