Humana Inc., an innovative health care company dedicated to improving the health of Americans, recognizes that lack of physical activity is a primary driver of poor health. Humana, in conjunction with Bikes Belong, introduced its bike-sharing program, Freewheelin, to the nation during the 2008 national political conventions by providing 1,000 bikes to the host cities of Denver and Minneapolis-St. Paul for free use by anyone during each convention. Coyne PR – in tandem with Humana – executed the communications outreach to show the nation that bike-sharing programs like Freewheelin are a healthy, eco-friendly, cost-effective and fun way to take short daily trips!
