A job seeker looking for employment in public relations who engages PRSA's Jobcenter Mentorship Program tells her story as part of the “The Job Squad” series on CBS News’ “The Early Show” on Wednesday, March 25. The weeklong series ran in March 2009 and featured four candidates trying to find jobs in different fields during the economic downturn.
Job seeker Kelsy Nova, a communications graduate from New York University, reached out to PRSA for guidance as she sought employment in her field during the economic downturn. PRSA supplied information and guidance, including a mentor from its Jobcenter Mentorship Program, to provide the expertise and perspective of a senior member of the public relations profession to the candidate. CBS News also created a website offering similarly situated candidates practical career tools, including a career advice column by Deborah Radman, job tips and links to PRSA Jobcenter career resources.
