Be a part of the PRSA Public Affairs and Government Virtual Summit, an event with outstanding networking opportunities and targeted Public Affairs and Government communications programming.

Read through these guidelines carefully to ensure your proposal meets the criteria. Submissions are due by Friday, February 19, 2021, 5:00 p.m. EST.

Summit Overview: The Public Affairs and Government Summit will feature two days of professional development, idea exchange and networking among those whose talents are in high demand at the nexus of public policy, community safety and protection, crisis communications and environmental concerns. The Summit will address the multi-disciplinary interests of public affairs professionals and provide access to valuable resources for communicators who hold public affairs roles in the private and NGO sectors as well as communicators with key roles in local, state and national governmental bodies and the military.

Proposal Guidelines: To participate as a session speaker in this conference, please submit an innovative and compelling presentation proposal supporting public affairs and government communications professionals. This year’s theme is “Refresh. Reconnect. Recommit.” and we are looking for uplifting presentations that will help PAG Summit attendees as they continue to learn from 2020, implement new strategies, and remain up-to-date with current industry trends.

Presentations must be targeted to mid- to senior-level public affairs and government communications professionals. The strategies and practical applications in your proposal can focus on both traditional and new forms of communication outreach as they pertain to public affairs and government communications — whether social media, publications, strategy, planning, measurement, thought leadership communication, crisis communication or specific issue topics and/or teachable case studies such as municipal power, public water or public utilities, Tribal relations or associated issues, FEMA or disaster response, oil and gas industry and ties to government relations, or other topics of interest.

Application Instructions and Rules: Please complete all information via the link above and submit it for consideration to the PRSA Public Affairs and Government Summit no later than February 19, 2021, 5:00 p.m. EST. Applicants will be notified of final selections via email by April 1, 2021.

As the program is virtual in 2021, session proposals should be for 30-minute sessions, which can be presented by an individual or panel of experts with no more than two presenters, where attendees can take away tools to help them in their day-to-day job. Sessions will be followed by small break-out sessions to discuss the topic and offer individual perspectives on the key issues.

All presentations must be detailed, thoughtful and able to provide attendees with knowledge and tools they can implement in their practice.

Public relations agency proposals should include a client case study, with the client included in the actual presentation, if possible. Presentations from PR agencies, research providers, consultants, etc., will be considered only if they are unbiased, educational, informative and innovative. Pitches for a specific commercial service or product will not be considered.

Several targeted sponsorship opportunities are available. Prospective sponsors should email Richard Spector, PRSA director, corporate development and industry partnerships, via email or at (917) 837-1670.

In lieu of a proposed session, potential speakers may be invited to participate in general panel sessions.

In addition, please note, speaker presentations will be posted online for conference attendees. Participation in the conference conveys to PRSA the right to use imagery, content, presentations, etc., for promotional purposes.

Please be sure to provide complete contact details for references. Failing to do so may result in the disqualification of your speaker proposal.
