PRSA’s San Francisco Chapter Wins National Organization’s 2017 “Chapter Diversity Award”
Boston (Oct. 8, 2017) – The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the nation’s largest professional organization serving the communications community, last night presented the 2017 “Chapter Diversity Award” to its San Francisco Chapter. The award was announced as part of the PRSA 2017 International Conference’s annual Diversity and Inclusion Mixer.
The San Francisco Chapter stood out among its peers for successfully developing and hosting multiple panels, workshops and seminars, all focused on the importance of implementing D&I programs and best practices. Inclusive activities included the “Fall Into Diversity Mixer” event designed to bring together an array of media professionals.
The award also includes a monetary prize intended to support the Chapter’s D&I programming in the year to come.
“Winning this award is a testament to the strength and commitment of the San Francisco Chapter, which has done an absolutely great job of institutionalizing D&I,” said Ana Toro, APR, Fellow PRSA, the PRSA National Diversity and Inclusion Committee Chair, “San Francisco uses D&I as a lens through which it plans and executes its whole year. From that standpoint, the Chapter represents everything we want D&I to be – an integral part of everything we do, not simply a special or limited-time effort.”
