Missy Burchart, APR, Fellow PRSA

Missy Burchart, APR, Fellow PRSA, is a public relations professional with more than 25 years of experience in corporate and agency communications. Her work spans multiple disciplines, elevating notable clients including the Atlanta Ballet, Match.com, GE Plastics, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and her role as Vice President of Communications and Development for The Literacy Council of Central Alabama where she helped raise more than $1.4M supporting programs for adults to improve their literacy skills.

Missy joined Wilbron in July 2022 as the Vice President of Public Relations. Her vision for Wilbron and commitment to developing emerging leaders quickly led to her elevation to the current role of Chief Operating Officer. In 2024 she assumed the role of President and CEO.

She has served PRSA at the chapter, district, and national levels for more than a decade. Within the Alabama Chapter, her leadership roles have included APR Co-Chair, Programs Chair, Membership Chair, and President. At the district level, she served as a Southeast District Board Member-at-Large and Conference Co-Chair for the 2017 Southeast District Conference. Nationally, her service has included roles as an Assembly Delegate, a member of the Professional Development Committee and Governance Committee. She is a proud member of the 2024 Class of the PRSA College of Fellows, and has served as a mentor to countless PR professionals and students throughout her career.

In 2023, Missy, along with Wilbron’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Brandon Wilson, were recognized for their work, earning the prestigious Silver Anvil Award in the Most Effective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Campaign category. In 2025 they were recognized with the Sliver Anvil Award of Excellence in the same category.

Missy is a graduate of Auburn University and lives in Birmingham with her husband, Matt Burchart. She is an avid sports fan, enjoying everything from SEC football to hockey, though baseball holds a special place in her heart as her favorite sport. Her love of the game stems from various reasons, one of which includes how she met her husband.
