PRSA Announces Content Marketing Certificate Program

Mar. 15, 2018

Live, Online Professional Development Series Launches Oct. 31, 2018

NEW YORK (March 15, 2018) – The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) announced the launch of its first-ever Content Marketing Certificate Program, designed to teach and empower communications professionals to develop content strategies and tactics that deliver quantifiable business outcomes.

The structure of the certificate completion course’s core curriculum will be presented by Lisa Arledge-Powell, the chair of the PRSA Health Academy Conference and president of MediaSource, named 2013-2016’s Best Health Care PR/Marketing Agency by Ragan Communications. Lisa will be joined by one or more experts in various aspects of the week’s topic, who will present case studies on how they applied the concepts.

The live, online series of six modules will launch on Oct. 31, 2018, airing each consecutive Wednesday from 3-4:30 p.m. EST (Nov. 7, Nov. 14, Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12), skipping Thanksgiving week. The modules are:

  • Developing a Content Marketing Strategy
  • Editorial Planning and Team Structure
  • Storytelling Strategies for Content Marketing Success
  • Gaining Exposure for Your Content Marketing Program
  • Using Earned, Social Media and Influencer Tactics to Boost Effectiveness
  • Content Marketing Measurement and Analytics

All modules will be recorded so that participants can review them after the live airing. Additionally, participants who are PRSA members will be given access to PRSA’s Content Marketing Certificate Program Online Community, an exclusive online forum offering private access and interactive dialogue with other participants taking this course.

After successfully completing and passing a multiple-choice test at the end of the 6-week program, registrants will be awarded a certificate of completion and digital badge for their LinkedIn profile and resume.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Master the ability to create and repurpose content that aligns with their business goals
  • Leverage their content across paid, earned, shared and owned platforms
  • Define ways to collect data enabling them to analyze the effectiveness of their campaigns.

“As the role of communications professionals continues to evolve, Content Marketing is becoming an increasingly valuable area of expertise,” said Anthony D’Angelo, APR, Fellow PRSA, 2018 Chair, Public Relations Society of America. “PRSA’s new Content Marketing Certificate Program will provide a step-by-step guide to exactly what Content Marketing is, why it’s so important, and how we can all learn to implement it successfully.”
