Katie Thomas, APR, Elected PRSSA 2024-2026 National Professional Adviser

NEW YORK, February 23, 2024 – PRSSA today announced that Katie Thomas, APR, has been elected to a two-year term as the National Professional Adviser.
In this role, Thomas will offer best practice guidance on Chapter operations, help Chapters discover and connect with Professional Advisers, and assist in the professional development of Chapter members, among other duties.
Thomas has served in a variety of positions with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where she is currently Senior Manager, Population Health Marketing. She also oversees content development and strategy for On Our Sleeves, the movement for children’s mental health created by Nationwide Children’s, and is a lecturer at The Ohio State University in the School of Communication.
Thomas’ extensive experience with PRSSA and PRSA began in college at Otterbein University and has included serving as chair of the PRSA Young Professional Mentor Program and president of PRSA’s Central Ohio Chapter. For her commitment to PRSA, she received the Central Ohio PRSA Walt Seifert Award for Outstanding Service. Thomas has also been recognized for her professional and community commitment through induction into the 2020 PRSSA Hall of Fame, receiving the prestigious Central Ohio PRSA Tom Poling Practitioner of the Year, and being named to Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40.
Outgoing National Professional Adviser Michael Cherenson, APR, Fellow PRSA, will complete his term on May 31, with Thomas beginning her two-year term on June 1.
