Absolutely Marvelous News: Amy Sherman-Palladino, Queen of Quips and Creator of Coffee Obsessions, is Headed to PRSA’s ICON 2025

Jun. 18, 2025

NEW YORK, June 18, 2025 – Hold onto your hats! PRSA announced today, that Amy Sherman-Palladino — the fast-talking, Emmy-winning genius behind some of television’s most beloved shows — is joining the ICON 2025 keynote speaker lineup. Yes, that Amy.

Mark your calendars for Oct. 28–30 in Washington, D.C., because this year’s ICON will be more caffeinated than Luke’s Diner at 7 a.m.

If you’ve somehow missed binge-watching “Gilmore Girls” or haven’t swooned over the brilliance of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” let’s catch you up. Sherman-Palladino is a storytelling powerhouse whose work is known for its wit, heart and the characters we wish we could grab a burger with at Weston's Bakery. At ICON 2025, she’ll take the main stage for a conversation on the power and art of storytelling. It’s a session you won’t want to miss.

“Storytelling is the secret sauce of what we do for a living as PR people, and we’ll be taking copious notes when Amy Sherman-Palladino takes the stage,” said Ray Day, 2025 PRSA chair, Stagwell vice chair and Allison Worldwide executive chair. “Basically, Amy’s going to give us all a masterclass in crafting stories that stick with you longer than a Lorelai rant.”

Before creating TV magic, Amy was a writer on “Roseanne.” She quickly rose through the ranks to become a story editor and supervising producer — all while racking up an Emmy nomination, a Writers Guild nod and a Peabody Award.

Then came “Gilmore Girls,” the fast-talking, pop culture-packed, heartstring-tugging show that ran for seven seasons and became a cultural phenomenon. The show was so beloved that it made a triumphant return on Netflix with “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.”

Next up? ABC Family dance drama, “Bunheads” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” — which won 20 Emmys and made Amy the first woman to win both comedy writing and directing in the same year. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” also earned six Critics Choice Awards and countless other accolades that would make even Paris Geller speechless.

Just when you thought she couldn’t possibly have more going on, she adapted “Once Upon a Mattress” for the stage and most recently launched “Étoile,” which premiered on Prime Video in April.

Registration is now open for ICON 2025. Media interested in attending the conference should contact PRSA Communications at prsacommunications@prsa.org.
