Amy B. Hill, APR, is an award-winning, accredited public relations professional and community engagement specialist with nearly 30 years of experience affecting change in local communities and the state Capitol. Amy proudly adheres to the Public Relations Society of America’s strict Code of Ethics and Professional Values and promotes civility as the standard. Her expertise is drawn from her politically diverse work history to help clients generate influence with lawmakers at every level of government and on either side of the aisle. Her community engagement experience includes the creation and implementation of the innovative Policy Research Team for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Her team was charged with going into the community to engage with diverse perspectives and advocate for policies that address the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities and underserved individuals.
Amy has successfully led and supported many small and large-scale campaigns, projects, and events that raised awareness, generated funding, and mobilized action for diverse critical public policy and social causes for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (Director of Community Engagement & Advocacy), Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (Communications Director), County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (Communications Director) and the Dauphin County Board of Commissioners (Public Information Officer).
Amy actively coaches other PR pros to earn their Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and is a sought-after speaker on strategic communications issues. Amy holds a B.A. in economics and political science from Allegheny College and a master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University.
Amy serves on the board of the Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club and the Mercy Matters Committee at her church, the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Harrisburg. She enjoys hiking, running and reading. She lives in downtown Harrisburg with her husband, Doug.
