James E. Lukaszewski (lew-ca-chev-ski) is a well-known writer, author, teacher, scholar, and lecturer in American Public Relations. He is a Minnesota native whose PR career began here in 1974 following his graduation from Metropolitan State University, in the press office of former Minnesota Governor Wendell R. Anderson.

He also served as the Deputy Commissioner of the MN Department of Economic Development. Jim and wife Barbara opened their first PR firm in Minneapolis in 1978, then moved the business to New York in 1986. He has had clients in every state, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Jim has always worked at senior levels, generally on the toughest problems organization and their leaders face.

He is the author of fourteen books, e-books and manuals. He was an adjunct assistant professor of communication at New York University and a civilian advisor to the U.S. Marine Corps for more than 20 years. One of PRSA’s most active senior members he will celebrate 50 years as a member of PRSA in 2024. He has served on the PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards for more than 30 years. Jim and Barbara returned to Minnesota from New York in 2011 upon Barbara’s retirement. She died in 2019. Jim’s fifteenth book will be available in 2024.
