Allison Mackey, APR
Allison Mackey, APR, serves as the communications and brand Manager for the City of Visalia, Calif., where she leads strategic communications, brand governance and community engagement initiatives designed to build trust and foster civic connection.
Since joining the City in 2012, she has spearheaded major communications campaigns ranging from ballot measures to General Plan Updates. In just the last few years, successes include the educational campaign for Measure O, executing a comprehensive City rebrand, building and launching a new city website, and helping to secure $51 million in State of California Active Transportation Program Cycle 7 funding, the largest grant awarded in the state’s 2024 Cycle.
Prior to her role with Visalia, Allison served as the public information officer for the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency. Her multi-faceted career spans media relations, public sector communications, community services, and the entertainment industry.
Allison holds the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential and is a graduate of the California Association of Public Information Officials PIO Institute. She currently serves as the South Valley Liaison on the PRSA Central California Chapter Board of Directors and sits on the Tulare County Library Advisory Board. Allison earned her master’s in communication from Eastern New Mexico University and her bachelor of arts in radio/TV/film from California State University, Fullerton.
