Chris Nelson
Chris Nelson is the chief spokesperson and communications director for the University of Utah. He previously served as assistant vice president for public affairs at University of Utah Health and is the former executive director of the University of Utah Hospital Foundation. Over the course of his 25-year career Nelson has developed and executed a wide range of strategic communication and marketing campaigns.
In his current role, Nelson is responsible for crisis communications related to the pandemic, as well as the university’s content marketing strategy. He holds a master’s degree in public administration, bachelor degrees in mass communication and political science, as well as a graduate certificate in integrated marketing communications.
