Mo Schriner
Mo Schriner has served since November 2020 as Communications Director for the Minnesota Department of Commerce. She has had a portfolio career that spans three decades and brings a broad perspective and depth of knowledge, skills and abilities as a communicator. She started her career in journalism, moved to public relations and specializing in health care. She obtained her PhD in mass communications and was full-time faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Her career took another turn when she chose to return to the practice of public relations, directing communications for a high-tech association and then serving as media relations lead for the U.S. Census’ 2020 census campaign in Minnesota and Iowa. At the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Schriner directs communications for agency work that spans regulation and programs in more than 40 industry areas, including energy resources, financial institutions, insurance, professional licensing and other areas.
