Hongmei Shen, Ph.D., APR
Hongmei Shen, Ph.D., APR, is a professor, graduate program advisor and public relations area head in the School of Journalism & Media Studies at the San Diego State University. She has published a co-edited book, book chapters and articles on internal public relations, strategic public relations management and conflict/crisis management, and she has contributed health communication in a variety of top journals. Dr. Shen is a former Associate Editor for the Journal of Public Relations Research. She is the recipient of various research and teaching awards and grants.
Dr. Shen has a professional background in media relations, marketing and journalism, both in the United States and in China. She chairs the Research Committee for the Commission on Public Relations Education and previously chaired PRSA’s National Committee on Work, Life and Gender and co-chaired its Research Committee. She was a keynote speaker for the 2015 PRSSA Western Regional Conference.
