Alexander Slater

Alex Slater is managing director of Clyde Group, a Washington, D.C.-based communications and public affairs agency advising clients in brand and reputation management, stakeholder engagement and issues management.
Slater started his career as the first employee of the now widely respected Glover Park Group, leaving a decade later as managing director of public affairs. In 2011, he was tapped to grow a public affairs practice at SKDKnickerbocker. In 2014, he went on to found Clyde Group.
Slater previously wrote a regular column for The Guardiannewspaper in London, and his work also has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journaland The Financial Times. He coauthored the “Nonprofit Guide to Going Green.”
In 2016, Slater was named to PRWeek’s 2016 40 Under 40 list. A strong leader and creative force, Slater also has been awarded four Pollies and two Tellie Awards for his leadership in public affairs.
Slater holds a Master of Arts in communications from the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Cambridge.
