Jerry’s diverse career experiences enable him to provide counsel across a range of industries and organizations; he is a trusted adviser for both corporate communications and consumer brand marketing.  Prior to joining MARC USA, he was a partner at Ketchum and led Ketchum Energy, a global network of specialists serving leading corporations in oil and gas, utilities/power generation/transmission, renewable wind and solar, alternative energy/fuels, smart grid and clean tech.   

Jerry has worked on environmental, marketing communications, issues/crisis management, regulatory and government affairs, and employee relations programs.  He has led teams to award winning results in consumer and corporate branding/marketing, issues/crisis management, business-to-business marketing, corporate communications, and corporate/industry reputation and research. 

Jerry led the Florida tourism industry and VISITFLORIDA’s response to the Gulf spill, which won a PRSA Bronze Anvil.  He is an experienced labor/employee relations counselor as well, having worked with clients in the defense, air and ground transportation, manufacturing and retail food industries.   

His agency experience includes Ketchum (22 years, including four as director of Pittsburgh office) and Burson-Marsteller.  Clients Jerry has served include Rite Aid, Peoples Gas, Chevron, Mobil, BP, MSA Safety, Florida Power & Light, NextEra Energy, Mitsubishi Nuclear, The PA Turnpike Commission, ALCOSAN, Peoples Gas, Direct Energy, Westinghouse, Celanese, The Home Depot, Georgia-Pacific, FedEx, Delta Air Lines, Olympic Paint, Miller Brewing, Genentech, BASF, Rockwell, Price Waterhouse, General Dynamics, Rust-Oleum, Heinz, and more.   

Jerry earned a speech communications/journalism degree from Indiana State University.   

Currently, he is a board member for Junior Achievement and is a former member of the United Way of Southwestern PA board, for which he served as the Chair of the Marketing Committee.  He is a former Commissioner with the Pennsylvania Public Television Network, appointed by the PA governor, and has served on the boards of the Pittsburgh Opera, Communities In Schools, The Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America, and the World Affairs Council. He also served on the board of directors for Atlanta’s Liveable Communities Coalition, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce’s Clean Tech Leadership Council, the Technology Association of Georgia’s Smart Energy Society, and was an adviser to Habitat for Humanity Atlanta.
