Matt West
Matt West is a seasoned facilitator, trainer, speaker and executive coach. With a unique background in learning & development, communications consulting and design, Matt brings a creative and collaborative approach to helping individuals, teams and organizations unleash their potential. He is the executive vice president of coaching & facilitation at Golin, a public relations agency.
Matt works with executives and teams to strengthen their public speaking skills; design and host leadership off sites and team-building sessions; facilitate meetings and brainstorms; lead training workshops; develop presentations for conferences, trade shows and town halls; and coach professionals to be effective leaders and communicators.
Throughout his career in both corporate and agency environments, Matt has worked with a variety of global organizations including Facebook, Walmart, Adobe, Kraft Foods, Cisco, Humana, McDonald’s, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever and Mondelēz International.
Before his current position, Matt was the global head of learning & development for Golin. He was a senior vice president with Insidedge, a change and employee communications practice and a communications consultant at Coltrin & Associates in New York City. He also spent many years as a graphic designer and creative director.
Matt is a frequent guest lecturer at Loyola University in Chicago and the University of Colorado Boulder. He earned the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance™ (CPLP) credential from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). He is also a member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and an award-winning member of Toastmasters International, the public speaking organization. He holds a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior and earned his Bachelor of Arts in communications.
Matt is the author of the best-selling book Bend, Don’t Break, a practical guide to adaptability in the modern workplace that helps professionals and leaders navigate change with clarity, resilience and intention.
