Alicia White

An award-winning change-maker, innovator, environmentalist, and social entrepreneur, Alicia White’s work has been centered around social impact, urban development, service, climate justice, community relations, and tech to create a more sustainable and equitable future. She is the Founder of Project Petals, a groundbreaking NYC-based environmental and community development nonprofit organization in 2014. Project Petals collaborates prominent organizations with the goal of revitalizing the environment in under-resourced and BIPOC communities. To date, Alicia’s work has improved the lives and environments of over 50,000 New York residents.
She believes an inclusive, equitable future goes hand-in-hand with responsible environmental practices. Alicia's advocacy work stems from a lifelong passion for improving the environment, making educational programming accessible, and connecting communities with vital resources.
She has been a Digitally Unidived fellow where she worked on technology solutions to improve environmental outcomes. Alicia is now an NYC Impact Hub fellow working to re-imagine the future of NYC outcomes.
Alicia has worked on media projects to amplify the voices of BIPOC communities. Media projects include features with Facebook, Statefarm, Honda, and Anheuser Busch. She partnered with companies and stakeholders like AirBnB on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Alicia has been awarded for her efforts by ABC News, Discovery Channel's "Inspire a Difference" Award, Huffington Post's 99 Limit Breaking Female Founders, NBA Knicks' City Award, New York City Mayoral Service Honor Award, NY1 News, MLB Yankees Hero Award and Points of Light.
