Unlocking Diversity and Inclusion: Cracking the Authenticity Code 2.0

October 28, 2020 4:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Session Type: Leadership & Management

Last year, we benchmarked corporate culture through the Authenticity Code — a quiz to encourage self-reflection on diversity and inclusion (D&I) efforts. In response to the demand from the quiz we presented at the PRSA 2019 International Conference, this session returns to present new, eye-opening data that helps practitioners remove the smoke screens, demystify the uncertainty and get clearer about D&I. In this session, the presenters will reveal the results of a study on authentic diversity and inclusion in public relations.

We issued the Authenticity Code 2.0 and surveyed more than 150 PR/comm practitioners to find out what “real” diversity and inclusion actually looks like in the three categories: Employee Perspective, Leadership Perspective and Organizational Strategy.

Every organization wants better functioning teams, a positive climate, enhanced morale and excellent client customer service. These are key elements that impact organizational effectiveness. Conversations persist on the need for organizations to improve their D&I efforts. While some have made strides in diversity, it remains to be seen whether or not this has led to more inclusive work environments. Most important is having a deep dive understanding of how authenticity in an organization’s D&I strategy plays a paramount role in obtaining the level of effectiveness that organizations need to remain at the top of their game.

This Authenticity Code 2.0 session will reveal data for participants to use as a case study for insights, decisions and benchmarks about employee, leadership and organizational diversity and inclusion.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Utilize the Authenticity Code to recognize how inclusive they feel in their organization’s workplace culture.
• Determine the factors that make for an inclusive workplace environment.
• Access the ideal frameworks applied to strategic planning for diversity and inclusion.
• Analyze industry insights and best practices on diversity and inclusion from peers based on real-time data and insights.
