“How to Prepare for Campus Crisis Situations in an Evolving Media Landscape”

For university communications leaders, it's not a matter of if, so much as when, a crisis will hit. As an on-campus issue can quickly escalate into a crisis or national news in today's fast-paced digital media landscape, it’s imperative that we have a strong understanding of effective crisis response approaches.

This session will provide an overview of how media outlets react to and cover crisis situations on campuses today; share lessons learned on specific case studies that quickly expanded beyond local communities; detail how to balance both legal and communications needs that arise during a crisis; and foster discussion about how to approach crisis preparedness on campus from a communications perspective.
